It also has a habit of missing some duplicate files from time to time. Worded scans Worded scans extract a string from each file and split it into words. The scanning process is configured through the Preference pane. The first two types are for the Standard and Music modes, the last is for the Picture mode. Sometimes dupeGuru selects files which it thinks are duplicates but in reality are not so be careful what you allow it to delete. dupeGuru has 3 basic ways of scanning: Worded scans and Contents scans and picture blocks. However, it can still be confusing which files are duplicates and which are not. dupeGuru saves you time and does its job extremely quickly. But you really should read the documentation to understand why. Scanning by content is relatively fast, but when you use its fuzzy method for photo scanning, it can take ages for large amounts of data. However, if some duplicates are not as clear as others, dupeGuru uses a special algorithm which can mark out which files genuinely are separate and which ones are just similar thanks to the Power Marker. As far as DupeGuru being slow, it depends how you use it.
